How to save a whole webpage as a PDF in Chrome
Save a complete webpage as a PDF in Chrome — with the print dialog, and with a one-click capture that keeps the page looking like it does on screen.
Read articleA PDF is the right format when a page has to survive outside the browser — in an email, an archive, a report or on paper. Full page screenshot builds that PDF from the whole document, not from the visible window, so nothing below the fold is cut away.
PDF was designed for documents that scroll, which is exactly what a modern webpage is. The file keeps the page in one predictable object: the person who opens it sees the same layout you saw, can scroll it, annotate it and print it without any extension installed. For invoices, receipts, terms pages, tickets and long articles it is usually the only format worth saving.
Open the page, click the extension, choose to save the full page and pick PDF in the format window. The extension scrolls the document, waits for the parts that load while scrolling, and assembles one file. You get a preview first, so a broken capture never lands in your downloads folder.
Choose PDF when the result should behave like a document: sent to someone, printed or kept for records. Choose PNG when you need pixel-exact image quality for a design review or a bug report. Choose JPG when the file has to be small and the content is mostly photographic. The capture itself is identical — only the exported file differs.
Because a PDF is also the most printable format, every PDF in History has a print action next to it. You can reopen a capture weeks later and send it to a printer without downloading it again first.
Yes. The capture covers the document from top to bottom, not only the visible window.

Yes. Use the selected-area mode, then choose PDF in the format window.
